About Life Coffee on a Lofi video.

My friend and I have launched a Chill Lofi channel on youtube called : Haïku.

Inspired by Japanese culture, we wanted to have our Ginger Panda chilling in a lovely coffe shop from Shibuya, Tokyo, called "About Life Coffee". Here I will show you how with Unreal Engine, drawing and animation I've done our fifth video. ***

I first started by collecting the graphic element and reference for the main subject, the Coffee shop.

From here, I built the 3D model of it :

After that I imported this one to Unreal Engine and created the scene. To help me doing a City and street environement, I mainly used one assets from the Unreal Engine Marketplace, the one called "Polygon - City Pack" from Synty Studios. Here is a short tour on how the coffee shop look now integrated on the street :


I also added to my scene a "Stylized Cartoon post process", the one from Atomdev, to have a render match the drawing style we were looking for.

After finding the perfect view, lights and Camera angle, I took a screenshot of the scene and started the hand Illustration process. First draw all lines strokes, add the colors, details, lights and shadows.


From here I've separated all elements who has to be animated later then started the animation process to ended up with the video you can see on the channel : https://youtu.be/Ycu8rQKiYY8
